What to expect:
There’s a lot going on in the greater world right now that we all have big feelings about. And there are always things to work through in our personal lives.
Are you using songwriting to help process all this? Do you shy away from delving into your own real and raw emotions for fear of the ridicule such honesty will most likely bring?
I wasn’t keen on completely baring my soul with my writing…until I experienced a mental health crisis during the pandemic and my perspective on things changed. I felt an urgency to share my experience in hope of helping others. The FreshGrass Foundation invited me to do that by commissioning me to create the Jubilee song cycle.
With this class, we’ll explore being vulnerable with our writing, whether for a commercial or personal purpose. I welcome lively discussion! I’ll also have a writing exercise or two ready.
Class will be held virtually using Google Meet.
I will personally send you a welcome email including the link to the Google Meet session after you have completed your purchase. Please reply to this email to let me know you received the link and if you have any advance questions.
How to prepare:
Tech:
For best results, restart your computer before logging into the session. Make sure you have good lighting. Once in, go to “Audio Settings” and please make sure “Noise Cancellation” is off.
If you have tech trouble after the class starts, keep the video going on your computer, but mute input and output audio; then dial in with your phone for audio.
Please stay muted if you are not speaking.
Have something ready to take notes.
The session will also be recorded for personal use of participants only.
